EUROCHAMBRES Economic Survey : An annual assessment of the business climate in European regions.

Each year, EUROCHAMBRES undertakes a qualitative survey of business expectations in the regions of the European Union and the candidate countries.

This economic trend survey, which is executed by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, gathers the expectations of over 69.000 entrepreneurs covering 96 Nuts I regions at European level.

These entrepreneurs have been asked to give their opinion on the performance of their own companies concerning six economic indicators:

• total turnover,
• domestic sales,
• export sales,
• employment,
• investment and
• the general business climate.

Their forecasts have proven to be a very accurate and reliable indicator for the performances of the regional, national and EU-level economies. The territory covered by the survey represents over 85% of the EU Gross Domestic Product.
