Energy Efficiency: from legislation to SME reality

Energy efficiency is a commercial success factor. Not only is it the most direct way to cut energy and consequently costs, but consuming less energy also mitigates climate change and preserves the environment. Energy efficient small & medium enterprises (SMEs) play a vital role in achieving the goals of the EU’s Energy Union Strategy. However, in order to boost SMEs’ intelligent energy use, they need guidance and support.

STEEEP is a 3-year project that has helped 600 SMEs in 10 European countries to implement energy management strategies to become more energy efficient. The event will showcase project’s results and SMEs’ exemplary cases to EU policy makers and stakeholders, and will debate on the effectiveness of the EU’s energy efficiency policy from an SME perspective.
