The European Chips Act: are we getting it right?
European Businesses are suffering from the global chips shortage, making a dent in their production capacity. At the same time growing geopolitical tensions have increased doubts about the reliability of current semiconductor value chains in general. The European Commission therefore proposed a Chips Act in February 2022 in order to “bolster Europe's competitiveness, resilience and help achieve both the digital and green transition”. The ambitions of the Chips Act are steep but does it match businesses’ needs?
What is needed from a business point of view to create a stronger semiconductor ecosystem in the EU? What sizes of chips are needed to ensure security of supply for the European industry? Are the crisis response measures foreseen in the Chips Act appropriate to reach their goal? This joint Eurochambres - DIHK event aims to discuss these questions with representatives from the EU institutions and businesses.
The webinar will happen on 05 July 2022 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
