Eurochambres, the association of European chambers of commerce and industry, welcomes the release today of Enrico Letta’s much-awaited High-Level Report on the Future of the Single Market, considering it as an important element in reinvigorating Europe’s competitiveness.

Eurochambres President Vladimír Dlouhý highlighted that Enrico Letta’s report and thought-provoking recommendations offer valuable insights for EU policymakers to deepen the single market. President Dlouhý commented: “Europe must unlock the potential of the single market by tackling persistent cross-border obstacles encountered by businesses and citizens. We must enhance the free movement of services, and mobilise private investment to integrate and scale up key sectors such as energy, capital markets and telecoms”.

A strong single market is perceived as crucial by chambers in ensuring Europe’s global competitiveness in the face of geopolitical uncertainties and other emerging economic challenges.

President Dlouhý added that “Chambers of commerce and industry stand with EU leaders to forge a more unified single market to deliver growth and prosperity”.
