General Data Protection Regulation Simplification Proposals

Chambers of commerce call for the reaffirmation of a risk-based approach as the guiding principle in the interpretation and application of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The rather conservative interpretation, coupled with lack of harmonisation and consistent application of GDPR has created significant challenges for businesses, with dangerous repercussions on business operations and innovation.
